Nodie Murphy

Norma Jane (Nodie) Murphy has long been fascinated by the relationships between and among language, music and movement. She obtained her doctorate in French Language and Literature from Brown University while continuing her studies of flute and ballet. She became choir director at the Congregational Church in 1995 and assumed responsibilities as director of music in 2003. Nodie and her husband, Dennis, have been members of the church since moving to Austin in 1980. They have three children, Sarah, Seth, Ben, and one grandchild,
