Bookclubs

Women’s Book Club:

 

The Women’s book club meets monthly on the third Thursday in the homes of the women who wish to host meetings. Once each year, the club makes its selections for the coming year from recommendations by members.The subjects are diverse; they include histories, novels, mysteries, religion, science, and politics. Each summer, a poetry meeting combined with the Men’s bookclub  is hosted by the Briggs family at their Lake Travis home.

Men’s Book Club:

 

The Congregational Church of Austin’s men’s book club started in 1992. It includes men from the church and friends of church members.  Meetings are hosted at 10:30 AM on the third Wednesday of each month by members of the club.  In January, the club makes its selections for the year from recommendations by members. The subjects are diverse; they include histories, novels, mysteries, religion, science, and politics. Each summer, a poetry meeting, combined with the women’s bookclub,  is hosted by the Briggs family at their Lake Travis home. A club website provides more details, see the link below.
