The Rev. Amelia Fulbright is the Founding Minister and Executive Director of Labyrinth Progressive Student Ministry, an ecumenical Christian community at UT supported by the Congregational Church of Austin as well as other local churches. College was an important period of spiritual growth and awakening for Amelia, and she hopes to create safe space for students to experience a similar kind of awakening in their lives—through exploration, community, and social justice action. In 2000 Amelia earned a BA in Religion from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. In 2007 Amelia completed the Master of Divinity, with a focus in Greek and New Testament Studies, at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
After graduation she served for five years as an Associate Pastor at University Baptist Church, before transitioning to full-time campus ministry. In addition to her work as a pastor, Amelia has previously worked in community mental health services in Cincinnati, OH and as a domestic violence crisis counselor here in Austin.
Amelia has a wide range of interests, including a special affinity for feminist theologies, contemplative spiritual practices, holistic medicine, and bluegrass music. She is also happily married, and enjoys being a mother to her daughter, Vivienne, both are seen at right.
